Dru Sellers will be delivering a developer oriented presentation on messaging for enterprise applications. We only have to look at Amazon SQS and the rise of languages like ERLANG today to see that messaging is a hot topic. But why? We will address the topic of bringing a message oriented architecture into you enterprise. What messages are, how they add value, how they are similar to how we program today, and how they are different. We will review moving from a procedural or OO progamming style to a message based one as well as the new architectural capabilities made available by using this style of programming. We will also cover the future of what messaging might be, what services we might see as a result of this technology.

Location: JCCC, Carlsen Center, Room 211

Time: April 7th, 5:30 - 7:30

A call for developers: KC IT Professionals Philanthropy (KCITP^2) is the volunteer arm of this group. We leverage our valuable skillsets in order to assist non profit organizations by creating efficiencies via technology solutions. We've worked with several local non profit organizations, including Harvesters and the Kauffman UEP. One of the skillsets we desperately need is that of developers. If you're interested in volunteering, please register here http://kcit-charity.eventbrite.com/ If we have opportunities that match your skillset(s), we will be in touch. If you're not a developer, please feel free to register. The more resources we have, the more we can help those who need it.
