July 29th: Agile

On 12:28 PM

Meeting Topic: Individual Personas – Understanding who’s on your team and how do they work?

As any agilist understands the leading statement of the Agile Manifesto (www.agilemanifesto.org) states that value should be placed on ‘Individuals and interactions over processes and tools’. As anyone who has spent more than three days in the business world knows getting ‘Individuals and interactions’ to function correctly is hard work, especially when compared to processes and tools! So how does one successfully promote individuals and interactions on teams? Why is it important to do so?

Come to the next Agile KC meeting on July 29, 2010 at the Pizza Shoppe and find out; or at least find out Martin Olson’s thoughts on the topic. Martin will lead a discussion about the importance of the team \individuals and interactions from an agile perspective and will also lead a session on identifying different types of personalities that one can encounter and how to deal with them. Bring your war stories too and compare your emotional scars with others in the community.

Hope to see you there!

Martin Olson is a principal at Silicon Prairie Solutions, Inc. and has been leading agile teams since 2002. He recently wrapped up two simultaneous 3000+ hour projects where the teams were remotely located as were the customers. In addition to providing Scrum Master services, Martin also leads agile coaching and training sessions.
