HUG Access SIG Meeting 6:30 pm, July 17, 2013, at JCCC, Regnier Center - 3rd Floor, RC 353
Beginning Presentation:
Title: Splitting a Database
Earl Long was a founding member of the Heartland Users Group (HUG). He has developed many applications using the Access platform. He is a past President and now the current Treasurer of HUG.
The Access platform is ideally suited to create a complete application for multiple users on a network, sharing the same data tables at the same time. This is referred to as “splitting” or “expanding” the database. Earl Long will demonstrate how to split the database into a “backend” for the server and multiple “front ends” for multiple users.
Advanced Presentation:
Title: Knowing when to upsize to SQL Server
Includes a demonstration of using the Upsizing wizard, viewing the upsizing results and adjusting the OpenRecordset code.
Caren Grandgenett is an Adjunct Assistant Professor - Business Entrepreneurship and Technology at Johnson County Community College. She develops and maintains databases that allow clients to track their clients and competitors.
