The July Agile KC meeting will be held on the third Thursday (not
the fourth as we typically do.) This will be a joint meeting with the
Kansas City IIBA chapter. To register for the meeting please visit the
IIBA website at:
Meeting Topic: Story Mapping - a Hands on Approach
Meeting Learning:
Story
mapping is an extremely useful tool for defining and reviewing a project
feature set. It also helps provide a visual basis for prioritization and
managing the work. We'll review the process for creating a story map and
then conduct an exercise in creating one.
Meeting
Description:
A
constant challenge of both novice and experienced agile teams is managing the
user story backlog to make sure it represents both the breadth and depth needed
to deliver the desired solution to the end user. Story mapping is a
practice that can help teams work through this challenge. Even better is
that it is applicable in both new and ongoing development.
This
month we'll be joining the local Kansas City International Institute of
Business Analysis chapter at their regularly scheduled meeting to discuss user
stories and story mappings. Martin Olson will present an overview of user
stories and story mapping to the group and then lead an exercise in creating a
story map.
This
will be a great opportunity for those that are not familiar working with user
stories to join us and get a hands on understanding of how to define a work
flow via user stories and story mapping. It will also be an opportunity
for those with experience in working with stories to join in the fun and share
their knowledge.

Speaker:
