BDKC (Big Data - Kansas City) is part of the global crowd-sourced Big Data Festival going on the week of November 18-22, 2013. The Big Data Festival (BDF) unites the data community around the world.
Kansas City has partnered with major cities to create a global platform for big data enthusiasts. With over 25,000 attendees, you can expect a think-tank of our data community including: scientists, visualizers, architects, researchers, engineers, experts,  beginners, professors and learners. Our focus will be the challenges and opportunities presented by the growth of Big Data.
The BDKC Festival will revolve around the community to celebrate the global impact and application of data in business and society. BDKC is a 2 day event that will take place the week of November 18th.
The BDKC Festival will also host a hackathon. We will provide open public data for teams to build projects to help liberate data, create visualizations and publish analysis. Teams will have a chance to win prizes and be judged on creativity, usability and community favorite.
