As we all know, social media permeates nearly every aspect of our lives, and while the plethora of emerging products and practices designed to excite and engage us are useful, it's difficult to stay on top of what's available and how we can benefit. Fortunately for us SMCKCers, a panel comprised of some of KC's leading social media experts will be on hand at our April breakfast to explain and share their experiences with the latest and greatest social media platforms and trends.
Specifically, we'll discuss:
- Wearable Technology, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow: During this part of the talk, we'll cover the social reactions to products like Google Glass and the usability of Nike+, Fitbit and Garmin's new competing product, along with items like infant sleep monitors. We'll also talk about the progression from Nintendo Glove as well as what's next in this arena.
- Social Media & Relationships: From Match.com to group tweet-ups, we communicate and express ourselves through our devices. We'll discuss how this has affected human interaction, privacy issues and communication challenges.
- Taking A Traditional Business into the Social Era: During this section, our panelists will discuss educating and managing an administration within a more traditional business about social media as a means of marketing, interaction and doing business. We will talk about successes and failures and how to get internal support to build your case for a bigger and better outreach/engagement plan.
