NE Wyandotte Co. Community Technology Center, 2006 N 3rd Street
The public is invited to the Grand Opening of the new community technology center on Friday, March 14th at 3:00 PM.
Connecting for Good is partnering with the Kansas City Kansas Housing Authority to operate digital inclusion programs in one their properties located at 2006 N 3rd Street in KCK. The center features free training programs. a twenty PC public access computer lab and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
It is right across the street from the Juniper Gardens public housing project where, last April, the nonprofit organization built a wireless network that provides free Internet to 300 households.
Along with serving the families at Juniper Gardens, the center will be a much-needed resource for all residents of the Northeast neighborhood.” says Michael Liimatta, president of Connecting for Good. “Those who complete our free digital life skills classes, and qualify as low income, can purchase high quality refurbished computers for just $50.00.” Other planned classes include job seeking skills, various software applications and GED preparation sessions
