Turn in between Arrowhead Stadium gates 4 and 5.
It's official! We have been asked by the KC Pet Project to conduct our KCDesignCore Photo Walk at their facility with 250 dogs and 150-200 cats as our willing subjects! (Thanks to Tim Yeaglin for hooking us up).
With an intake of nearly 9,000 pets a year, open-admission, and a No-Kill policy, the KC Pet Project welcomes our group to come and do our best photography for their most willing subjects.
Some of the pets will be bandaged up and are obtaining medical care. Others will be putting on their "please adopt me" faces. All of them are going to be happy we're there!
Tuesday, June 3, 2014, ...bring your digital camera (as simple or fancy as you like) and plan to do some creative photography for the KC Pet Project. They normally close at 6:00pm but will extend their hours for our group - be there a little earlier than a normal meeting (6:30pm instead of our usual 7:00) and plan on a good solid hour of roaming the halls, the play yard, the special rooms, and anywhere that's open. Capture some personality and some infrastructure while you're there!
All pets have signed their model releases with pawprints. ;)
We'll provide a way to download your photos at the end of the night...we'll package them up for online review by KC Pet Project staff...and during the July "vacation month" we'll select a winner to receive a special book prize at the August meeting. At the end of the Photo Walk, as our semi-annual prize raffle, someone will walk away with a one-year subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud!
By participating in the Photo Walk, you're giving your material to the KC Pet Project to use as they see fit (in future marketing, web site, advertising, or print projects) but the portfolio material is yours for the keeping.
See you Tuesday night, June 3, at 6:30pm!
