A Complimentary Event for KC Businesses
Oakwood and Microsoft have partnered to bring a cutting-edge event to the Kansas City metro area. The event, "Next Gen Productivity for Modern Day Workers" will feature award-winning speakers, a Microsoft device bar and hands-on workshops that highlight new Microsoft technology.

The evening will begin with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a keynote. You can then register for one of two sessions offered per hour.
- 4:00 – 5:00 Enterprise Mobility – See the latest Cloud technology in action with Azure RemoteApp, Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS), and the ability to host remote office access infrastructure in Azure IaaS. Azure Evangelist, Nathan Reynolds, will reveal the latest in mobility, access and security.
- 5:00 – 6:00 Modern Day BI in the Cloud – This is must see BI in action. Watch as we create a live mashup of publicly available data turned into valuable insights for decisions makers in minutes. Turn raw data into executive dashboards with BI knowledge required. Maria Stanley, Senior Principal and BI expert, will explore the incredible capabilities of Power BI.
- 4:00 – 5:00 Hands-On Microsoft Productivity Workshop – Work with collaboration and Office365 guru, Scott Cameron, as everyone goes hands on to experience the latest in Microsoft Office 365, Lync and OneDrive. We’ll break out various devices (iPads, tablets, mobile) in this BYOD interactive workshop to help you envision the next iteration of worker productivity in the areas of unified communications, knowledge sharing and more.
- 5:00 – 6:00 Clean Code: Writing Code for Humans – inspired by Steve McConnell’s “Code Complete”, Uncle Bob’s “Clean Code” and Andrew Hunt’s “The Pragmatic Programmer”, this session reviews best practices for writing code in a style that’s easy to create, maintain and understand. Steve Green has delivered this message across the country from Las Vegas to St. Louis and now brings it home to Kansas City. Anyone involved in app development won’t want to miss this engaging session.
