Title: "Best Practices and Highlights from 2014 Database Conference"
Presenter: Janet Gilsinger
Description:
Janet Gelsinger will lead a discussion of best practices and useful ideas from
a recent database conference. Speakers at the conference were leaders in
the database design field and their recommendations have been valuable. You can

Janet Gelsinger is currently a Data Analyst at Hallmark Cards, working on
projects like Personalized Books for the Hallmark.com website. Janet
previously worked as a Teradata DBA on the Enterprise Data Warehouse at
Hallmark and as a Microsoft Access developer.
Presentation 2:
Title: "Excel Power Tools"
Presenter: Lisa Friedrichsen
Description:
Did you ever use PivotTables or PivotCharts in Access and wonder where they
went in Access 2013? In this presentation Lisa will connect an Access
relational database to Excel using Excel's new "Power" tools (Power
Query, View, Pivot, and Map). These tools are the new and more
"powerful" way to create PivotTables and Charts from data from a wide
range of sources including information stored in an Access relational database.
Lisa is a professor at Johnson County Community College where she teaches
classes in the Computing Sciences and Information Systems department.
