Description: How in the heck do you do Data Warehousing in Access? Why would I want to do data warehousing in Access? OK, let’s say I can do data warehousing in Access but .... Should I do data warehousing in Access? Can a star schema be implemented in Access? What the heck is a star schema? Why can’t I use a relational database for OLAP processing?

Description: OLAP databases and Cube Functions: Use Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) databases to perform multidimensional analysis of business data.
Background: OLAP databases can be stored on SQL Server where the relationships and hierarchies are stored in cubes.  Cubes provide a multi-dimensional way to look at data.

Caren Grandgenett is an Adjunct Assistant Professor  - Business Entrepreneurship and Technology at Johnson County Community College.  She develops and maintains databases that allow clients to track their clients and competitors.
