- We are super excited to host Aaron Walker all the way from Australia to speak at our meetup.DirectionsThis is in the building at 1712 Main. The entrance is the north door on Main. The stairs lead straight up to the second floor.Jason Shore's TalkAWS Lambda and running a Serverless environment.Aaron Walker's TalkMany organisations are facing the challenge of enabling Continuous Integration and Delivery across their organisation. The principles and code base2 has developed can be directly applied to large organisations that aim to get standardised CI tools across different business units or teams. The ProblemThe problem is, if you allow each team to manage there own CI tools it becomes a very high risk model for any business. The value of using CI/CD tools for automating processes is well understood within IT. What is lacking is the understanding of how to manage CI tools at a global enterprise scale. Typically the deployment and management of CI tools is done in a very adhoc and haphazard way. This generally works ok in the short term but often, in the long term, can lead to:• Brittle builds• Difficulties to change• Not easily replicated across teams
In this session, will provide real examples of how we used AWS Cloudformation along with ECS and CodeDeploy to define CI/CD pipelines as code. Will also provide insights into best practice AWS account management to enable a consistent and repeatable CI/CD pipeline using AWS Lambda for automation. Will show real-world scenarios and code examples of how to incorporate these techniques into their current CI/CD capabilities.Bio:
