Vertica at its core is a SQL-based MPP analytical database.  However, it also integrates across the big data portfolio with Hadoop, Kafka, Spark, and more.  This presentation will provide an overview of Vertica and will demonstrate some of the ways it can provide value and integration with other big data tools.  Vertica will provide lunch.

Dave Thompson: Dave has many years of experience in the world of data including database administration, consulting, IBM worldwide best practices, and Netezza technical account management.  He is currently with Vertica.

Tuan Pham: Tuan has been with Vertica for 7 years and has over 10 years of experience building data applications on top of various databases and search engine technologies.
