Abstract:
Do you find your test code hard to maintain? Have your tests become a monolith? Have you wondered why there is so much setup required to test results from a rest controller?
If you have ever asked yourself those questions, then slicing up your application tests is a strategy that might work for you. I have been leveraging spring boot application test slices since its initial release in spring boot 1.4. My team has gone on to break up complicated tests in our architecture to make them more focused, easier to maintain, and easier to follow.
In this talk, I will share strategies to break up your tests into smaller segments through the use of the DataTestJpa and WebMvTest annotations.
