Description
Functional Programming Fundamentals
Functional programming is rapidly gaining momentum as a mainstream programming paradigm. It has been adopted by major players: from Facebook's Haskell based spam filter, to F# - Microsoft's own functional language. But, despite the hype, it is still a mystery to many. This talk aims to demystify the basic functional programming concepts by explaining how functional programming naturally evolves from lambda calculus, and how to use it to write robust and highly declarative code.
C2FO will be providing food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.
Speaker Bio
Leo is a Sr. Software Engineer at Cerner Corporation, where he, along with 2 other people, designed a functional inspired UI framework. His unhealthy obsession with functional programming started a couple of years ago, by painfully learning Haskell. It now has degraded into Elm, Purescript, and dependent types.
