It's just 11 days away... HACK KC - the National Day of Civic Hacking - is on for September 23-24 at Think Big. We are super excited about our projects.
We wanted to invite you to a pre-party we're holding this Monday, September 18, from 6-8 pm at Think Big in place of our regular Monday Hack Night. This will be a mostly informal meet & greet designed to help participants and project leaders get acquainted and start to form teams. Pizza and beer will be provided.
If you can join us Monday night, be sure RSVP now and bring your laptop so we can get you set up on Github and Slack.
If you can't make Monday, September 18th, no worries. We will have a project board with your project listed so people can learn a bit about it, and if they have interest, we can put them in touch with you throughout the days leading up to the hackathon.
Register now for HackKC
Meeting Format
6:00 - Social / Networking with Pizza and Beer
7:45 - Wrap up
Location: Think Bit CoWorking on the West side of the building.
Please RSVP so that we know how many snacks & drinks to bring.
Civic Heroes of all types welcome! This event is for coders and non-coders alike -- as long as you're interested in making government more transparent and building interesting things for our city, you're more than welcome!
Bring a laptop: If you intend on getting some hands-on hacking done (it's ok if you can't but it definitely helps to have one).
On first Mondays, there will be pizza! We'll be getting some 'za from Sizzle Pie, so there will be a vegetarian option.
If you have something you'd like to work on or are excited about, please let us know via the meetup or at the hack night itself. We are growing our initiative and the energy comes from the community.
