Dustin Holub is a Solutions Architect for TGS; a generalist with over 18 years of IT experience in Kansas City. He's wanted to have all of his logs in a single place for quite some time, and started collecting them with Elastic software in 2014. Dustin spends his free time with his wife chasing their two small children, playing indoor soccer, or wondering when technology will completely free him from housework.
**Spring Cleaning the Elastic Stack**
Perhaps you know the basics of Elasticsearch and have even spun up your own Elastic Stack. Or maybe some time has passed and you're finding it difficult to stay on top of your ever growing cluster... Enter "Spring Cleaning the Elastic Stack". From tips on automating dashboards and visualizations to index curation, this talk will take you through some of the different tools, features, and configurations that are at your disposal to make managing your Elastic Stack less cumbersome.
Evan Freed is a Site Reliability Engineer for the Cloud team at Elastic. He knows how quickly distributed systems can spiral out of operational control and quickly become a nonstop firefight. From past experiences to his current role at Elastic, he has had to develop a jack-of-all-trades mentality to combat and bring about simple but lasting solutions.
**Custom Ingest Plugin Development**
For our word cloud aggregation we needed a way to index our tokens as terms. This is necessary to avoid having to build the inverse of the inverted index of our data for every query. We created a custom ingest plugin that would convert the text into an array of keywords instead of using fielddata.
