**THIS IS A 2-DAY, 2-PART CLASS. FIRST PART ON FEB. 2ND, NOON-3PM. SECOND PART ON FEB. 3RD, NOON-3PM. PRICE INCLUDES BOTH DAYS.**
In this intermediate level jewelry-smithing class we will be using a variety of waxes to create two rings which will be cast in Shibuichi (a copper and silver alloy). Shibuichi is traditionally used to adorn Japanese Swords.It is a member of the irogane class, which will patina into a range of subtle greys and muted shades of blue, green, and brown.
We will be using tradition lost wax casting techniques in combination with modern vacuum casting equipment to melt and cast the metal, which we will alloy ourselves.
This is a two day class, beginning at 12:00PM Saturday and Sunday. and ending at 3PM each day. Our wax work will be burned out overnight in preparation for day 2.
