If you have had a hard time in the past connecting up with a project HackKC this Saturday and Sunday is the time and place to make that connection!
During the two-day event, we'll work on the following projects:
Clear My Record — Helping applicants navigate the process of expungement, or erasing their criminal records, to improve their lives.
RE.USE.FULL — A website that connects people who have stuff they no longer need with nonprofit organizations that could benefit from the donation. Looking for: Content writers, social media, Drupal
Mapping Energy Efficiency and Public Health — Solving three data problems (data collection, analysis and visualization) to effectively translate the impact of projects to the general public, stakeholders and funders. Need: Frontend, Backend Developers (no platform has been picked yet) . and experience with Mapping API
Substance Abuse Recovery Resource Database — Developing a comprehensive referral database and mobile app to help those with Substance Use Disorder, as well as patient advocates and counselors, find the help and resources they need. Looking for: Drupal Developers
Streetlight Data — Making information about how streetlights are used, especially in a Smart City context, more transparent and accessible.
ResideKC — assist new and existing residents to quickly learn about local services for their home such as identifying their trash pickup day, recycling locations, and other things. Looking for NODE and React developers.
Tagging Tracker —is a pilot project to to create a tool to help remove graffiti. It is an initiative started by the Community Resource Team. Looking for experienced Django/Python and React support.
Legal Hacker Toolkits — will help bridge the gap between legal, civic, and tech-minded individuals by providing step-by-step instructions for how to solve narrowly scoped tasks.
Spay and Neuter KC — Help create a tool for pet owners to find affordable veterinarian and pet services. Sponsored by Spay and Neuter Kansas City.
