How we did it: Running Microsoft Teams Live Events as a Conference
Microsoft 365 Virtual Marathon was the largest community event ever attempted with over 400 sessions running for 36 hours in 7 languages with speakers from 44 countries. We'll demonstrate how we delivered the best conference ever using Microsoft Teams as a conference platform.
Presented by Joel Oleson, Galen Keene, and Ryan Schouten
Joel Oleson is widely recognized as one of the world's most connected Office 365 and SharePoint Community leaders. Joel was a key player prior to the launch of Microsoft's Collaboration products from the beginning as the first dedicated SharePoint Admin for Microsoft internal deployments of Tahoe and Office Web Server, and later as Architect for the first version of SharePoint Online. He would act as voice of the product to IT as Senior Technical Product Manager with the 2007 release. After about 10 years working on Microsoft campus in a variety of different roles Joel left Microsoft to greater connect with the global community. His passion was helping kick start communities all over the world. Collaboration, Intranets, Portals and Business Applications took on a new meaning as he would get involved with many of the largest organizations in the world. In his pursuits he's visited over 165 UN countries and continues to coach and mentor community leaders across the globe. Joel is currently at Perficient as Director in the Microsoft National Practice.
Galen Keene has been working in IT for 19 years in various roles, from network administration to solution architect. Before starting on SharePoint development Ryan was an experienced ASP.Net developer specializing in server and client side interactions. This experience made transitioning to SharePoint a lot easier.Ryan loves being a developer and a speaker. Combining these two joys allows Ryan to do what he loves and sharing it with others. He loves working with SharePoint and spending time with his kids, not necessarily in that order. Ryan also loves the SharePoint Community and connecting with people.
