Title:
Kafka Streams Windowing: Behind the Curtain
Speaker:
Neil Buesing, Principal Solutions Architect, Rill Data, Inc.
Abstract:
There are many considerations when looking at the windowing strategies of Kafka Streams, and understanding their implementations provides you insight into which method to choose. Explore Tumbling, Hopping, Sliding, and Session windows. See a sample application that uses each approach with window aggregations, and explore how Kafka Streams uses RocksDB and Apache Kafka to provides stateful processing to your streaming applications.Come and see custom deserializers written to explore Kafka change-logs keys along with custom shell scripts to visualize the contents of RocksDB keys. Two things to immediately add to your Kafka Streams developer toolset.Neil Buesing is a Principal Solutions Architect at Rill Data, Inc. Rill provides operational intelligence for data in motion. Businesses are challenged to move as fast as their data, and Rill Data provides the platform.
Bio:
Neil has recently joined Rill Data as a Principal Solutions Architect working with the Customer Success team. He had lead software projects in a variety of industries, including e-commerce, insurance, and healthcare. His passion is helping others updating their real-time event streaming, and he enjoys sharing about many aspects of the Kafka ecosystem.
