Join us for a very special virtual meetup to celebrate International Day of the Girl. This Future of Data meetup will feature Cloudera employees and their kids, discussing their entry into STEAM fields or
giving demos on some cool tech they have been working on. You can use this as inspiration for activities you can do with the kids in your life, you'll be surprised at where their curiosity will take you!
Speaker 1: Carson Swift (with Carolyn Duby)

My Journey to Game Development:
How I convinced my Mom that video games are not all bad
Do you like to play video games? Have you ever considered developing your own? Carson tells the story of their choice of video game development as a career. They review the process for creating and launching a game and describe what it is like to study at Northeastern University.

How to use Apache NiFi on Raspberry Pi
A first project in understanding the Internet of Things (IoT). Ingestion of sensor data with Apache NiFi on a Raspberry Pi. The project goes over setting up a Raspberry Pi. Downloading Apache NiFi, starting a one node cluster and doing a 'Hello World' data flow. Then sensors are attached to the Raspberry Pi and NiFi is used to ingest and view the data in real time.
This is still a tricky time for public gatherings, but Future of Data is committed to providing great technical presentations & facilitating discussions in the "Big data", streaming and machine learning space. Our group in Philadelphia is hosting this event. In order to do our part to fight the spread of COVID-19's delta variant, this will be an exclusively online event with an originating Time Zone of Eastern Daylight Time (UTC -4).
